The rhyming verse features an advanced vocabulary to introduce kids to a series of new words and the glossary in the back helps to cement a child’s learning. McCune’s gorgeous illustrations set both the foreboding tone at the beginning of the book while capturing the light-hearted mayhem of these monsters of the night.

This book is geared toward children 5-7, and those younger who aren’t frightened by things that go bump in the night.
